I have a previous guest looking to get married in Phuket (both farangs).

She doesn't want a big hotel function room as it is a small party and doesn't want to spend a fortune either. Anyone have any ideas of anywhere that might be suitable? Anywhere on Phuket will do.

She also wants to know whether there's any need to go to Bangkok for any paperwork and formalities.

I haven't a clue!

We were invited to a friend's wedding held at a fabulous venue in the heart of Patong. It's a gorgeous Thai restaurant called Jasmine at the Kee Plaza, accessed at end of Soi Sea Dragon or from Beach Road opposite La Flora hotel

They booked the restaurant for the whole day. They have an outside covered courtyard area where they had the ceremony during the day and in the evening welcome drinks and pre-dinner socialising. Inside downstairs was the air conditioned restaurant for a fantastic dinner and upstairs on the covered open-air rooftop garden terrace for after dinner partying. Excellent. Here're a few pics.

PM me and I can give you their contact details.

Karon Beach Hotel, get married in the sand or on their patio overlooking the water there, would be my first idea. Kata Beach Hotel in the same business group would also suit, probably more expensive than Karon Resort though.

Kan Eang at the pier does weddings.

Hmmmmmmmm.............thats all I can think of now. Paperwork? Wouldn't that be done in their home country?

For the legal side see, legallymarriedinthailand (.)com

Som nationalities do have to go to Bangkok some not have to, not knowing their farang guests nationality I can not say.

They will offer you info and a service to make it easy if needed to go to BKK. Or they can get the documents certified by the Thai FM for your guests if they can be issued by their consulate in Phuket.
