Paying For Sex In The Philippines: One Man Tells All.

Featured Replies

I spent some time in the Philippines about 12 years ago. The gals were accommodating and everyone spoke good English. The beaches were lovely, the hotel rooms, were inexpensive, the booze was very cheap, and cigarettes were almost given away. But, I neither smoke or drink very much. I had more bizarre experiences with women than I can even remember, and very little of it was instigated by myself. However, there were more scams and corruption than you could believe. Four aquaintances of mine were murdered in the two months I was there. And, I had to threaten to kill a few filipinos just to get myself out of a touchy situation... and I fully intended to carry out the threat. After that I decided that the Philppines were no longer for me... despite the excitment. I'd rather have Thailand any day.

A strange very stuffed up country.

Some beautiful people and some beautiful places.

Memories of the Philippines....

Easter self-flagellation (I missed the crucifixions)

Boracay Beach at dawn

Getting off the ferry at 3am in Mindanao in torrential rain

Burritos at Olangapo

Jet skiing at 110kph on Subic Bay

Dancing in Midnight Rodeo, Angeles City

Flying into Manila during a typhoon

Mayann who loved me....

Regina who didn't

I visited there many years ago with my (then) missus for a quick break away from rainy and dreary Hong Kong. Of course, scamming in HK (and, in a less sophisticated manner, here in Thailand) is an ancient art, but they are amateurs compared with the Philippines. Never again...

I have the same sort of memories, sceadugenga. I remember what should have been a simple two hour bus ride in northern Palawan to the ferry terminal further down the island. It would have been a reasonably comfortable trip until the driver insisted on filling the 12 seating arrangement with his required number of people. The only problem was that 4 of the occupants were HUGE American guys with LARGE bags. The bags went up on the roof but each of the Americans weighed close to 300 pounds and took up space that would normally be filled with 8 Filipinos. That didn't bother the driver though, he just waited until two more passengers arrived. As it turned out the next passengers were a mother carrying a crate of chickens and her two daughters, about 6 or 7 years old. Being a gentleman I let the two kids sit on my knees while the woman held the crate of chickens. By the time we reached the ferry terminal I couldn't move my legs. They had both gone to sleep and other people had to help me out of the bus.

Another time I met a stunningly beautitul women on my last few days in Manilla. I was on my way back to Canada and she was on her way to Japan to act as a hostess. She was so beautiful that I actually approached her just to take photographs. She looked like an exotic model or movie star. I thought she was Spanish or American but she turned out to be a Filipina. Her father was Spanish from Seville and that is where she got her looks. We spent a marvellous two days together and had we not been leaving soon who knows what might have happened between us had we spent a month together. Unfortunately, the camera I had the photos on was stolen before I left Manilla.

Ping, you've met my wife, she misses her family a lot, but a trip back to Manila is no big deal, Jetstar.

She sees NZ as a most fair governmental system, compared with her homeland,

I am appaled with what I read going on in the Pinas, once a thought of moving there has flown, noway, never, only holidays

Most of the people are great, but the ruling classes are as bad, possibly worse than Thailand.

We wanna visit the LoS soon as, floods etc put us off last year.

Mate of mine retired from the cops in HK after spending all his money in the Flips building a flat complex for his Bini wife and two kids. Wife ran the shops and the hairdressers in the courtyard, manager she employed ran the flats with a uniformed guard company for security.

Woke up one morning to find a gun at his head presented by the manager who you guessed it, was the wife's "real" husband. The security guards were all relatives and he was presented with the youngest son, who the wife hated, and marched to the airport and told to f&&**k off and if he ever came back he would be killed.

Gotta love the place...............not

I flew from Cebu to Surigao City once and as the plane started to descend I stumbled down the isle banging passengers heads as I went and made it to the toilet just in time . When the plane taxi'd over to the immigration shed I was still in the toilet .

I went to this town called General Luna a few times . My dear brother and I befriended the mayor , and with a bottle of malt got invited to the GL Illumini1995 .

Up on the stage of the town hall that night the mayor drank our whisky from a brandy glass as he recited bits of The Rubiyat , I joined in the party by murdering Pipeline with the band .

I liked it down south on the pacific coast , it was as far away from anyware I had ever been .

I was in a market in Zamboanga City and saw a bottle of JW Black Label for $6.

I asked my mate's girl friend (a local) why it was so cheap and she said it was either stolen goods or the label was untruthful.

In the interests of research I purchased same and am pleased to inform readers that it was NOT stolen. bah.gif

On a positive note, the service offered by "The Spider's Web " always raised a smile.

I dated a Philippine bloke a few years before I met the Mr, his one piece of advice to me was to never, ever trust a Pino. I laughed & said what about you, he said, definitely not me. :) that said, I know quite a few from years back on samui & never had an issue but then I've never been scammed by a thai either. The Pinos I know seem to rally round if one of their own is in trouble, the whole community pitches in, not sure if this applies in their own country but when they are overseas it is the way.

I used to sail with Filipino crew and they were pretty good. They'd invite us to all their parties and we used to go ashore together. The only mean one I ever met was a cook who used to take a dislike to westerners when he'd had a few beers. If he got too tetchy the bosun and one of the stokers used to kick seven bells out of him laugh.png
