Where Has The Rain Gone

My feeling: Rawai is dry, dryer than e.g, Kata, which is again dryer than Patong.

Before I moved to Rawai I used to like in Ao Makham, and that was also very dry. On my way there was one spot, always the same, where the rain stopped, like a line on the road.

The rain might be coming soon.

Heavy weather coming - met office

PHUKET: The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a warning of strong waves and winds along the Andaman Sea coast until June 21.

TTR Weekly

Tuesday 19 June 2012, 06:41PM

The department said the strong southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand would also cause scattered to fairly widespread rain over Thailand and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Northeast and the East.

Strong wind will raise waves to as much as 4 metres high in the Andaman Sea. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats should remain on shore during this period.

No one should swim off the beaches of Phuket.

I have never seen a correct TMD forecast/warning. So count on nice and sunny weather today and tomorrow (20 and 21st) with some wind, but nowhere as strong as predicted.

Ants are back inside my house, which is clear proof that the rain will be here in next few days.

I haven't seen a drop since the crazy weather however many weeks ago. Perhaps you just need to hire a maid. :)

dam_n, I was counting that the ant do the cleaning - for free.. :)

Now they even failed to predict the weather, so I guess I need to offer them some RAID shower instead.

and nothing in the forecast for the next 10 days. i'm getting bored with too much sun again, just a few clouds would be nice at this point.

Hells bells...enjoy it while you can..this is the nicest 'low season'' weather for a long while..

rest assured..the rain will be back..sept /oct rainy as , usually...

Then you'll be complaining again about too much rain..smile.png

Beautiful day on Nai Harn Beach today. Relatively calm seas. Too bad they haven't figured out how to have all the signs and flags convey an unambiguous message. Despite this no swimming sign, the flags were all yellow over red bookended by red flags at each end, with one lone yellow flag about half way along the beach.

i've been patiently watching windguru for signs up up coming rain and its now saying next monday we may see some. hope so, this hot dry weather is getting boring.

Some darker clouds gathered over Patong about mid-day, But came to nothing. Oh well - had to order another water truck as the gov water supply is all screwed up again. Wife went into the water office this afternoon, the usual excuses, problems with system, be ok in a few months. Been hearing that for the last 3 years.

I had to lower the pump in the well today.

Must be the difference in location. Up in them, thar, hills in Rawai the water level in our well is one meter from the lid which is 50 cm above ground. Any doubters PM me for address. You can check.

We irrigate and water all plants daily, tomorrow same level.

As I said it depends on location, we've got water trucks going by our front gate daily to other locations in the same area. We're at 37 meters elevation, but no seaview, further up the hill, nice seaview but no water, 300 mt south at same elevation, also little water. That's why we bought where we did 9 yrs ago. 3 golden rules of real estate. Location, location, location.
