Aftermarket Gas Shocks

Featured Replies

I have a 2003 Toyota hilux tiger 2WD and want to upgrade the suspension, have looked every where in mukdahan for some gas shocks with no avail,so if someone knows of a good shop for these in isaan or a web site

thanks.

I've had one of those before....if you still have all stock parts keep it this way....you will not improve much and your resale value will go down.

This is a great truck and second hand prices are high,no sense to change anything...

The tiger has 180k up on the the clock and still like brand new when washed, but plan on keeping it as there is nothing wrong with it,and I know from Australia you can get some really nice suspension set ups for these old hilux's so maybe going to Udon next week so I will have a look there

That's probably OK than...just get a known quality brand.I've refitted my shocks after 6 years with an aftermarket gas shocks, but went with the shop recommendations something like:"we have those great shocks on sale now"... and they really felt good...for a week(!) and than started to degenerate quickly...I went back to the shop of course just to hear the usual "mai pen drai" and "it's normal for these"... oh well smile.png TIT

I do wonder about gas shocks. The vehicle manufacturer will fit the best stuff for their ride from factory, little difference in manufacturing costs for either construction, BUT, longevity of a part comes to the fore. .

use Rancho 9000 shocks some have 3 adjustments and some 9 for what conditions you need.

Same applies across the board too, to other parts, such as intakes; the short ram intakes actually underperform stock intakes because they are not as well insulated from heat. I't sure other aftermarket parts perform on par with factory parts, but come at a price.

Yep buy quality and get quality. buy cheap and get cheap. Rancho brand suspension parts are quality i used them alot on my 4wd's back home . Wait a minute this is thailand everything is a chinese copy here forget what I said.
