Scampy desires to stay within Thailands confines so much that he subjected himself to living in a shipping container? Does anyone know this for sure? That is a state of such desperation that I would venture to guess that he has lost his marbles. Someone with 1st-hand knowledge please confirm this debacle. If Scampy can't stay in Thailand full-time, and by God he's put in the effort, why can't he do what many other TV members do? Have a job in the UK and come out on holiday once, or, twice a year.

Have known other people like Scampy, who will do anything to stay here. From my experience, they are like alcoholics. You have to let them hit rock-bottom before they will even think about leaving for their home country.

Spending nights in a shipping container is adventurous if you are twenty, but, at Scampy's age, it's just sad.

I don't know whether this experience is rock-bottom for Scampy (I suspect not), but the answer seems obvious to me. Go home, start a career.

Time is passing, Scampy is no longer in the flower of his youth and it appears he doesn't have any marketable skills in the work-place. If he doesn't get cracking soon, he's going to be doomed to a hand-to-mouth existance no matter what country he stays in.

Sorry Udon, not sure I fully understood what you mean. Can you elaborate for me please? I was never one to stay totally up to date on the tribulations of our Scampster. Tin cup? Sponger? Did I say something wrong? I was merely suggesting that his friends talk to him and convince him to return home where he can exist normally like a person instead of a stray dog. I feel sorry for him to think of him sleeping in a metal box.

Christ, I can't believe how many posts this one has got.

But I'm very much with the "writing is on the wall" tone of things. With whatever means he has, he should pack up and head home where he'll get a lot more support than out here.

I think whatever sympathy from forum members offered many moons ago has pretty much dried up, especially when the message has been consistant yet ignored all the way through.

Tripxcore, a sponger is slang for someone who lives off of the generosity of other people & using the tin cup is akin to begging. A good few months ago now or was it a year or more (I can't remember) a lot of TV members were loaning money to the scamp & giving lots of symapthy & advice (the gist was go home, make some real money, then come back for a long holiday) but he is now in the same situation but nothing has got better so some can't be bother to show the same sentiments as last time. A bit like the boy who cried wolf

I hope he sorts himself out & doesn't get into any trouble but I can understand the ones who can't be bothered with him anymore as it's ahrd to keep giving advise & good wishes when they are ignored

The unable to leave syndrome isn't peculiar to Scampy. If the person whose story this is recognises himself, I wish him all the best.

Stage one - arrive with a big bag of money. Visit lots of bars.

Stage two - running short of money, get some kind of a job. Visit lots of bars.

Stage three - fired from crappy job because of drinking problem. Visit lots of bars.

Stage four - borrow money from "friends". Visit lots of bars.

Stage five - hide from "friends", visa expired. Visit lots of cheap local bars.

Stage five - thrown in jail on trumped up charges. Unable to get through bars.

Stage six - deported. Barred from Thailand

Stage seven - wash dishes in Thai Restaurant in the UK. No money for bars.

The last I knew about him, he had a regular job in China and was making a decent go of it there. Then he came to LOS for a temporary holiday and that is where I last knew it was. He stayed here apparently. Why? Didn't he have to go back to his job in China? Excuse the ignorant one (me) not being abreast of the situation.

Thats the last I heard too, I am not aware of why he is in Thailand or staying in a container but it isn't a life IMO

Fun Faire was canceled in China until Spring. So basically a 3week holiday on his way to rejoin the faire has turned into a proposed 6month nightmare. How he ended up in Patters - I'm not certain (was in BKK), but as I've previously stated not good at all. Alot of TV members have gone out of our way to give him sound advice both on the forum and behind the scenes as Boo stated others even took him in their homes, given him dosh and looked after him, but comes a point when he has to help himself. Scampy knows what he must do, but will he?

Bloody helpless and hopeless. Long term members has suffered more of Scamps downturn than up turns. Home is the way to go for the lad.

I saw him on xmas eve and he said that he had a plan to return to england and visit the BBC to give them a proposal for a new travel show where they fly him anywhere in the world with a crew and give him 50 dollars, he then has to get a job and live and survive for a certain amount of time.

This will be on a video dairy which he will make himself and the crew will film him also and broadcast it on the telly.
