Looking For Parents To Share Transfer To From Chalong To Darasamuth School

Hello,

my son just started going to school and we are looking for other parents who wish to share transfer for children. School bus from Darasamuth picks up children in Chalong area at 6:00 am (too early) so we have to lift our son with our car as long as we find somebody with the same problem.

We will be happy to find other parents to share pick ups among each other by weeks or by particular days. The best if children live in the same area - Chalong to let children be picked up around 7:30 am instead of 6:00.

Also if anybody knows contact to a transfer bus our son could join in Chalong at more acceptable time (any time after 7:00 would be fine), information will be much appreciated.

Hi Margaret,

I was also considering sending my son to Darasamuth. But because of the distance and thereby also social aspects decided to invest more and send him to Palm House in Rawai.

This won't help you with your transport issue, but I would if I were you consider some of the alternatives in the area.

I inquired at my child's school about sending out a newsletter that goes to all parents weekly and ask about setting up a car pool sign up sheet for a few different areas. The response I got was that it has been tried quite a few times in the past and the response was lackluster. Perhaps Darasamuth has a bulletin board that you can post to and see if there's any interest. Due to the response being so poor for the carpool, vans had to be purchased to take the kids to school that didn't have a ride.

On the other hand, Mrs. SP said she enjoyed driving to school every day as did most other mothers and that it's not the local way to car pool. Not sure she's right, but I capitulated.
