Spouse Visa

hi everybody.

my wife will have her workpermit pretty soon. she has to go to Laos to get her Non B visa. I am on a 2 week Visa right now. to get a spouse visa do I have to go to Laos too or will I get it from Thaiimmigration.

I don't think you can get one until she has received a one year "Extension of Stay" based on employment. I don't think her visa and work permit is enough for you to receive a visa and extension as her dependent.

Not until your wife is on an extension of stay from immigration would you qualify as a dependent. It is unlikely that immigration will convert, and you will not have enough time anyway with your current entry, as your wife must wait until 60 days after she enters Thailand with her non-B visa, before she can apply for an extension of stay.

Go with your wife and apply for a non-O visa for yourself based on your wife's employment (take with you proof of marriage and letter from your wife's employer asking for a visa for you), or a tourist visa if they reject your application.
