May 20, 201213 yr Out of sheer boredom I clicked the 'IP Address' in the drop-down menu. It tells me i am in the Bradford area, UK, when I am actually in London. Why is this so? Pity, I could murder a good curry later and Bradford has some of the best in the country.
May 20, 201213 yr Author What drop-down menu? At the very top of any screen in TV is a menu bar listing various headings: Home...News....Apps... Mouse over the last one, labelled 'More' and then mouse down to 'Your IP Address' (below 'Speed test against Singapore'). Left click and...viola! It could be quite handy. I'll see if I can use it to get a substantial reduction in my Council Tax...
May 20, 201213 yr Wow, thanks. "www.digmyip.net"? Try this: www.whatismyipaddress.net I use that a lot to geolocate emailers, it's pretty accurate.

Thanks for the IP link, maybe TV could make use of it... As for where I live, I'm now totally confused. I'll have to ask the postman in the morning... Bradford (not) Out.
May 20, 201213 yr The IP lookup does not invade your privacy, ie it does not give the location of your modem but the location of the server of your Internet Provider through which you connect to the Internet. You live in London, but your Internet Service Provider has his server in Bradford.
