Hi there,

I have a Non-B and live in Bangkok. It’s that time again for a visa run. Normally I go to the Laos Embassy but it’s difficult to get to.

There is a 2 week visa available through travel agents in Bangkok. This is only 650B, however if I go to the Laos Embassy it’s more than double and I can only get a 1 month visa there.

It seems crazy that the Laos Embassy only let agents use this service.

Admittedly it takes 3 days to process but since I'm living in Bangkok it would be easy for me to leave my passport for 3 days. Its just a visa run so if I save a 1000B on the visa…

There is an agent on Khao San called Mama. I went there on Saturday and sure enough they offered me the 2 week visa for 650B

However since this was the same agent that got all those people arrested last month by selling them dodgy stamps. I wasn't sure.

When I got there she was shouting furiously at some poor guy. It was just embarrassing so I left.

It’s a visa run I don't want a 1 month visa from the embassy.

Does anyone know any reputable agents in Bangkok that can sell me a 2 week Laos visa?

get the visa for the country you plan to visit at the respective embassy/consulate.

there are NO LEGAL agents who can give you a visa!!!!!!!

visas are not for sale!

First, you've obviously been here long enough to have witnessed what has been going on over the past 6-months in terms of immigration crackdowns etc., so dont you think its a bit odd to even consider using visa agents?

If you have to go to Laos, then why do you not simply get a $30 Laos visa (two photos required) on entry?

As you quite rightly stated, getting to and from the Laos embassy in BKK is time consuming and costly.

Now's the time to stick as close to all immigration/visa rules, not bend/break them.

If you're going to Vientiane; and should you need its services, take note that Thailand has finally opened its new Embassy, located on That Laung road about half way between the victory arch and and the That Luang stupa.

All the best in whatever you decide.
