not used this forum in some time, been to Thailand many times but need a little help as im not too familiar with Phuket,

visiting in July and would like to get back to Bangkok via boat taking in a few days on some islands on the way.

any suggestions please ?

also are there direct flights from phuket to samui out of interest ?

Via boat would mean going round Singapore and through the Gulf of Thailand. Possible, but will take more than a few days.You could fly from Phuket to Samui, Bangkok Airways, and visit some of the islands from there, and after that fly back again from Samui, or take ferry-train/bus to Bangkok.

Pretty sure you'll probably mean 'by boat within Thailand', rather than around Singapore.

Flights are correct, as stated. But, a potential boat trip would be from the mainland to Samui, then onward to islands like Phangan, Tao, and finally back to the mainland at Chumphon.

There could well be boats from the aforementioned islands up to Hua Hin or Prachuap Kiri Khan. Then, to BKK by road or train.

Other than that, I doubt there's anything else, but others may know more.

By the way, boat schedules may be infrequent at this time of year, so plan accordingly.

Tried and tested route:

Phuket- Phi Phi - Krabi - Samui via Surat Thani - Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, ferry to Chumpon then Prachuap, Hua Hin or Cha-Am if you want more beaches, then Bangkok.

Bangkok Air are the only airline flying from Phuket to Samui.

thanks for the help, change of plans and am now heading to samui after a few days in Phi Phi ....

will price up a flight but if there realistic cheaper option that doesnt take days then would love to hear .... just getting myself confused looking it up myself
