there you go Nev, sums it up really. We cant bring back the old atmo at OT but at least it's start.

Kstand's barmy army made me chuckle as I was lost in there somewhere

Hi mate you will never bring back the passion of yesteryear as it is impossible for all the lads to go on the piss and then get in the same part of the ground.

I really think the scoreboard paddock gig is worth a shot and no matter what many clubss think they will follow because the difference from standing is immeasurable.

It is an interesting discussion nevertheless whoever your club is.

It was standing then now a different ball game, lads go to the game together, but then have to split up to go to different parts of the ground where there seats are,all the lads are doing is trying to get like minded people who want to sing all together, also at united various parts of the ground the acoustics are not good, the 2nd tier of the stretford end is very vocal and sing all game but cannot be heard from the other end of the ground.

No it is not like the away support, the away support by the way is going to be moved up into tier 3 that is why this section is coming available and happens to be the best acoustic position and why away fans are heard louder.

Strange that no one from the Arse has commented on this post facepalm.gif

Dunno about my fellow gooners but i don't regularly visit other threads. So what is it you want me to comment on - I'll pick up on it again next month when i'm next herelaugh.png

You know what they say about counting your chickens. wink.png

But since you asked, had we had lost, the reason, not the excuse, would have been, inexplicably atrocious defending. Complete <deleted> shambles. Nothing can explain that sort of back line display. Bizarre to say the least.

If moyes is learning anything it is that his starting 11 is generally wrong

To a degree, yes.

I will say though, despite the perilous and worrying situation we were in at the time, Nani getting booed off gave me considerable satisfaction and pleasure. What would be really nice is, if, along with Anderson, that is the last we ever see of him. Pack his bags and piss off, please do.

I would like to see Zaha given a game next especially as you say Nani just does not put in the performances anymore.....a five year contract just signed though!!!

Valencia was lively when he came on and him and the youngster looked a handful on the right.

Rooney was excellent again,Kagawa needs more games.

Stoke are among the most hated now just for there stalling tactics and time wasting hope they go down.

Don't think the newly signed five year deal should prove too much of a stumbling block in getting rid of Nani, just means we don't have to sell him on the cheap... not though that i think we'll get an awful lot for him.

Agree with you about Valenica. Think he was just as important a substitution to our come back as "the youngster" - i haven't figured out how to spell his name either. I was hoping he would be brought on as i think the last game he played, he really offered some decent width and some handy crosses. Was sorry he didn't start. Speaking of not starting, good to see Fellaini is getting some time away.

Regarding needing more games, i feel as well as Kagawa, Hernandez also needs to be given some more pitch time. Yes he got our winner last night, but for me, he seems to lack the sharpness he has had in previous seasons. Perhaps that goal will have boosted his confidence and bring him up a level.

Regarding Stoke's stalling tactics, yes they are excruciating aren't they? Don't blame them for it but does still drive me crazy. What is always so pleasurable though with teams that play like that, is to get into the lead, and then give them a taste of their own medicine. Last night i think it was a case of us having to do that anyway, because we looked so nervous and jumpy seeing out the lead. Real skin of the teeth stuff. Can't help feeling there will be more of that to come this season. Oh well, at least it keeps it exciting...

Better splash the cash for a good midfield man, Cleverley reminded me of a subbuteo player and of course we know what a clown Fellaini is when playing.

On controversial comedian Bernard Manning
"Bernard Manning is on the bill again. I brace myself – and he doesn't disappoint me. I get some more fearful stick. He is certainly a controversial character and not everyone likes his racist slant. If you become part of his comedy act you only have two choices: accept it, or walk out. One thing in Bernard Manning's favour is that, for all his often offensive racism, he does an awful lot of good charitable work."

On alleged racial abuse
"A flare up on Saturday between [Peter] Schmeichel and [ian] Wright has spilled into the newspapers. There's been a complaint to the FA that our goalkeeper racially abused the Arsenal man… The whole business of racial abuse seems to have got out of hand these days. A few years back, when Paul Ince was involved in an incident at Wembley once, I asked him why he got so upset when someone called him black. After all, he frequently referred to me as a Scottish so-and-so, so what was the difference? He told me the Scots aren't a race; naturally I had to remind him that we are in fact the master race!"

"Of course we should never forget dreadful events like the Holocaust, the nationalistic wars of Eastern Europe and the genocide in Africa, but I think we are past all that in this country. It doesn't help when people manufacture so-called racial incidents out of an everyday clash between two strong-minded players in the heat of a match. I hope no one at the FA is going to pander to this complaint, which is simply someone trying to make a mountain out of a molehill."

Hmmm?

I think Moyes got his "out of jail free" card last night that every coach deserves. The appalling defending wasn't his fault and it was lucky you were playing Stoke, that frankly are rubbish. A top team would have murdered Utd.

The result might well do the team a hell of a lot of good because when you play poorly and show fighting spirit to win it tends to create the belief doesn't it. I think that was a huge win for the team. But what is he doing with his team selection?!!!!

Turning point as in "up rather than down". Your team need to believe in themselves again, and this is the kind of game that does that. Losing to losers and turning it around. It was probably get out of jail talk in the changing room, but a good launch pad for better things. I really think moyes needs to give up on anderson, Giggs, nani, and cleverly until he either figures out how to motivate them or use the better. Personally I love Giggs but a time comes....

Couldn't agree more although Cleverly is a young talented midfielder that will improve,it is all about belief and once we regain that we will be ok again, our defence on Saturday was very young apart from Evra and he left Rafael on the bench obviously for Smallings height which he didn't need when he made the mistake for there second goal.

The most worrying thing for us is our inability to create chances as well as we have done before...same players up front and in midfield with the addition of the Janitor kid, still it will happen if they keep at it.

Zaha needs to be given a go and we have a few good players out on loan who are getting good experience so all is not to bad.

I thought moyes was going to put zaha on loan, a mistake...but if he doesn't play him he might as well be somewhere else

Model pros do not go around biting other players and getting themselves banned. What he is is a world class player and an absolute pillock.

As to your other comment, i have no doubt.

You could be right ,no you defoe are.

Does this make us mates again?

Jermain Defoenitely didn't get banned....but why should he? Just a friendly nibble from a Laandaan boy, not a werewolf attack from the devil incarnate!
