Dear friends,

Does anyone live in Bungkan? someone told me it is a new province and far from Bangkok. What do you think about this area? I got a job offer there soon.

Thank you!

My ex lives in Bungkan, which is the best thing I can say about it.

It used to be part of Nong Khai, but split off a couple of years ago to become the 77th province. It has very little to offer, and I must say that we couldn't find a decent meal ANYWHERE in that town. Rather dirty and disgusting, and that's saying a lot, since I lived in Nong Khai, and traveled all over Isaan, and almost always could find decent food.

The river is nice, and you can cross into Laos there, but, really, there's nothing much to recommend it.

Sirchai must have some well-guarded secret about the place - maybe free MaMa noodles with every wink-wink massage?

Guess we will never know...
