June 20, 201213 yr I'm looking to poeple who have experience with a 60hp mercury outboard motor ,consumption , service ...... Thanks for your feedback.
June 20, 201213 yr Not quite the same, but I have a 90hp Mercury outboard on my boat (Mercury's are standard on Boston Whalers). It's a 2 stroke, and consumption under normal running is circa 20 litres/hour (the oil/gas mix is a standard 50/1). You need to have it serviced every 100 hours or once a year. The local Mercury agents for sales and service are Seat just outside the entrance to Boat Lagoon. The engine is OK, but were I buying a new engine, it would be (in order of preference) a Honda or Yamaha. It would also definitely be a 4 stroke, as 2 strokes will only use 91 gasoline (not gasohol) which is expensive and there's doubt about the long term availability of it.
June 20, 201213 yr Author The big foot 60 Hp is a 4 stroke - so that's of the table . What would be a regular service cost mor or less ( just to have an idea ).
June 20, 201213 yr Around 3000 baht, depending on the parts needed of course (the impeller needs to be replaced every year).
