Vigo 3.0G Pick-Up Head Unit

Featured Replies

Hi,

I did do a search but found nothing conclusive. Recently bought a 3.0G Vigo Champ 2012 model. I am trying to find out what brand the head unit is likely to be so I can start looking for a sat nav unit to suit.

I'm hoping ill be able to buy a sat nav unit that maybe fits under the seat and plugs into the head unit. To add sat nav at Toyota is 50k which I thoughg was expensive.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about this as you probably figured and any advice is welcome.

Cheers.

Not looking for a dash mount type sat nav. I want to use the stock head unit.

Thanks for the interesting read all the same.

If you mount your satnav under the seat, how are you supposed to pick up satelites?

The sat nav computer mounts under the seat or for a car can be in the trunk. A cable connects it to the head unit with another to the GPS receiver. The GPS receiver is usually mounted under the dash below the windscreen.

I was actually a bit confused with what a head unit was,but now that I know.Toyota have a history of using Kenwood which in return use the Garmin software.

Of course this is no assurance for their future range of car models.
