A shop selling gold in the Burmese border town of Myawaddy was robbed by unidentified gunmen on Sunday, according to a report by the Democratic Voice of Burma. Three armed men entered the Emperor gold shop in the afternoon and fired several shots before escaping with an undisclosed amount of gold and cash in both Thai and Burmese currencies. A witness said that one person was injured by flying glass. A similar incident occurred in 2009, but the culprit was never apprehended. Police in the town were unavailable for comment.
