[Myanmar] Govt Detains Aid Workers In Arakan State

Around a dozen aid workers have been taken into custody by the authorities in Arakan State, according to a report by The New York Times. United Nations and aid agency sources told the newspaper that about six members of the UN’s refugee agency and the World Food Program and the same number from Medecins Sans Frontieres have been detained over the past few weeks. A state of emergency was declared in the area after dozens of people were killed in sectarian riots earlier this month that also left tens of thousands of people homeless.
