Best Non Smart Phone Recommendation Required

Featured Replies

My dumb old Nokia has stopped ringing. It still vibrates and flashes but the ringer has stopped. I overslept this morning because the alarm didn't work.

So I need to buy another dumb phone. Requirements:

- non-Smart

- no camera

- no music player

- no games

- want alarm, calendar, SMS. And phone smile.png

Any recommendations?

I have an excellent Nokia that does exactly that. 900 Baht I think.

Definitely basic Nokia S40 phone. Cheap and I believe still have a good voice quality, battery life and reception.

yep, buy the cheapest Nokia you can find in big C basement.

agreed

Basic Samsung phone. Forgot the model number. 490 baht. Tesco lotus.

Update: Samsung E1081T mobile phone with torch

Thanks for all recommendations so far. thumbsup.gif

I just realised that I cannot copy my SMS's from my old Nokia 3120 to my PC. I used to have a cable, but that doesn't work any more.

So one more requirement would be for synchronisation of the phone's data with a PC.

Any thoughts?

<p>ah, now you want blue tooth. So you will need to go up in range. Maybe Samsung might be better/cheaper than Nokia with bluetooth.

Thanks L-i-K. My laptop has Bluetooth but I have never used it for anything. Looks like I need to Google all about how to use Bluetooth!

It's p1ssing with rain now, so I'll leave it 'til tomorrow to go to Big C.

You can copy your SMS messages from your old phone onto it's SIM card, then onto your new phone. The SIM card doesn't hold too many messages though. By the way, my Samsung phone won't connect to my MacBook Pro via bluetooth. And IMO bluetooth is pretty useless, other than for an earpiece or headset.

I know smartphone is out of the picture, but the Android integrated contacts with Google account is pure bliss.

Since I switched to Android (el cheapo Samsung Galaxy Y) all contacts (and calendar entries, emails.. ) are synced with the google account. Therefore addings and changes to the contacts can be done with computer or with the phone. Just like it's supposed to work.

When changing to a different Android phone, all the user has to do is to put google credentials and the phone with contacts is ready to be used. Simple.

- Very simple 30$ - Nokia 1280 really simple!mono display!however it has fm radio

- Looks simple 70$ - Nokia C2-01

take the 2nd one(C2-01) I am using it now,not much more cost,very rugged,you can carry in your pocket;

you will not use, what you do not want, but it is there when/if need.you can call it:smart dumb.

Nokia mobiles have very good reception, they always catch network, where sammies can not.

You can easy find your old model 3120 in 2nd hand shops- this is the best option.
