It seems a fighting buffalo owner was killed by his animal today.

Not sure if the translation I was given is right,

but possibly the animal partially dined on the man afterwards.

Eewww.

Not sure where, likely south of island, but it did make the Thai TV around noontime.

Buffaloes, while docile, can and often do go berserk. You sometimes see them being gunned down by the coppers on the news.

I've been to the fights in Chonburi and also in Hat Yai and the force they hit each other with would simply decimate a human....awesome power...

Water buffalo are grass and grain eaters same as cows. Highly unlikely he took a bite out of the guy out of hunger. as they are 100% herbivores.

But, they are scary animals, I was charged at by one that was fortunately tied up by a very big strong rope many years ago. Taught me to stay well away

Um, yes I know they dont' eat people, the OP said he thought one did.

Water buffalo are color blind, they only see the bright colors so yeah, great advice BigC

A common misconception about cattle (particularly bulls) is that they are enraged by the color red (something provocative is often said to be "like a red flag to a bull"). This is incorrect, as cattle are red-green color-blind.[32][33] The myth arose from the use of red capes in the sport of bullfighting;

Buffalo dont have a top set of teeth so would be difficuilt to eat a person, they eat grass by wrapping their tongue around the grass and pulling it.

Wear Red if you like Big C see they can,t see Red so maybe safer.

That is what was told to me after the Mrs. listening to Thai TV at noon.

I suspect this was his dinner of vegetables as the animals possible meal

seeing as the report says he was disemboweled.

Or he was carrying a sack of feed that was spread all over him,

so appearances were more maccabre than the reality.

Supposition, but it's the only things that fit the scenario.

I was just reporting what I was told, bizarre as it was,

and more looking for further facts, that what I was given.

RIP to the poor man in any case.

Does that mean Big C would be naked to the eyes of the buffalo :)
