Hi,

I wonder if anyone owns one of these. I heard they are a bit sluggish and not that good for overtaking.

Anyone know what kind of millage the car has ?

My civic with the same (almost) 2.0 engine gets an average of 10 km/l around Nonthaburi. A relatives crv with same engine gets about 8-8.5 km/l, but out of town a bit. It's not great because of it's weigh - heavy on fuel and sluggish as you say. My car is lighter and feels much quicker on takeoff.

My buddy and I both bought CR-V's bout 5-6 years ago so both 'third-generation' owners.

He bought his a year before me and opted for the smaller engine (2.0?) and regrets it for the reasons mentioned; inadequate overtaking power as he was making regular long trips to Chiang Mai and back. On his recommendation, I opted for the larger engine (2.4?) and cannot say I have had any power issues. I could not quote milage (you mean fuel consumption?) but it used to make the run from Udon to Pattaya via Kabinburi on a full tank. That's about 650km but once again, not sure what size fuel tank it has. Mine is 5 years old and has about 40k clocked. The only thing beyond the regular servicing it is now on it's third battery, not unusual for Thailand though. Original Michelin treads still have loads to go but are a bit noisy on most road surfaces as they are a harder composition.

Just did a quick google search and if my car has the 15.3 US gallon tank, that is almost 58 liters so that was 11.2 km/l on those long runs. It was running on vapours at the end of the run!

I get only 9.6 km to one Ltr with my 2 Ltr CRV,

The power band seems quite high but in any case when it comes in is hardly a kick in the pants.

I would say It is a very noisy car also sluggish compared to the earlier model that my wife now drives.

I shall be selling it and will not buying another.

I've driven this AWD model before and got 9.2 km/l.

For me, it didn't feel too heavy but then I had no passengers in the car.

I felt it had a more comfortable interior and smoother ride than a Fortuner or Pajero but I understand that it's more of a mini SUV and isn't really suited to off road.

Has anyone tried to put in a performance chip in their CRV to improve HP and fuel efficiency?
