Siam International School

Featured Replies

Hi, I am looking for information on Siam International School from anyone who has taught there recently (2011-2012) or is teaching there at the moment. I have read quite a few bad reviews but most were posted from 2006-2009 and I would like a more up to date opinion if possible.

For legal reasons we don't allow 'name and shame' topics. If you have information, you might want to share it by PM if it is negative in nature.

Hee hee hee- this place STARTED very promisingly a number of years ago... the first time I interviewed there they were going for full IB status, I think.... but they never made it that far, from what I heard from a friend who worked there later.

Next time I heard about the place, the owner was in legal trouble because they had found weapons stored on the school site- this was shortly after the whole 'burning-down-the-city' episode- that's a matter of public record in the newspaper, so I don't think it's off limits for discussion here. Take it for what it's worth.

The school does not have a good reputation at all, perhaps the worst in Thailand for int'l schools, plenty of info available on the net and from teachers that have been here a while.

I heard the school now has "new management" and hired a headteacher from the west (UK?) in what appears to be an attempt to raise their game. However, I would wait for results before believing things have changed, the new qualified headteacher may just be window dressing and not in any way permitted to exercise his judgement or implement measures that would raise standards of education and the working environment.

Good luck.
