Do you know where you are staying in Phuket? I like the Aloha Villa, but there are loads of resort type hotels around that you may prefer.

Looking at a few places and thinking Patong Beach maybe the best place for me to stay or Karon Beach

Thanks Daewoo some honest words there and will take that into account. Hope to stay somewhere local to the bars and clubs then I get get a cab or train around town. Irish bars are always a good starting place.

First time visitor, best place for you is The Nana hotel, right in the thick of it all.

2 Irish bars within staggering distance on the same street as the nana.
