No more than 32 sports disciplines will be competed in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Burma, according to an announcement by the competition’s governing body. “We will not reach more than 32 sports for the next SEA Games,†Steve Hontiveros, secretary-general of the Philippine Olympic Committee, told reporters on Tuesday following a three-day meeting. The last SEA Games in Indonesia included a total of 44 sports with a record number of 545 events, but the new limitation is designed to concentrate on Olympic disciplines.
