The UN’s human rights envoy to Burma, Tomas Ojea Quintana, will visit the country next week to assess progress and to get a briefing on the recent sectarian violence in Arakan State. The UN said he will visit from July 30 to Aug. 4 when he will meet government officials, lawmakers, the national human rights commission, and others. He has also requested visits to Arakan and Kachin states.
