I use smileys a lot smile.png for similar reasons of Mr. Kan Win, this is my favourite coffee1.gif ( I love coffee )

Another favourite is this cheesy.gif , but i don't use it so much, i may upset somebody ! w00t.gif

I think i use them only as an ironic gesture,

but now the vai smilie isnt here any longer so guess that's the end of smilies for me

I use them occasionally, but not that often. I can usually say what I mean to say without emoticons. A few probably save me some suspension time from the forum...

I like to use them thumbsup.gif as they can add another dimension to your post blink.png and also for my main reason........

........I feel they add a bit of fun as well cheesy.gif .

Yeah I use them. The use of the smiley can often mean the post is not interpreted as a flame or personal insult to another poster

Can be hard to convey some emotions, sarcasm, lightheardeness, anger if u choose, over a keyboard.

Yes I invariably use this is my posts biggrin.png as a way to show there's no malice intended whatsoever.

Maybe I don't use them because I try (not always successfully) to keep emotions out of posts to complete strangers. Another reason is that I think that they are silly, especially posts that have more emoticons than words.

Go on now, I expect some really refreshing posts consisting entirely of emoticons.
