The title of the OP is confusing, but indeed Windows 8 will not be renamed but they (MS) are forced to drop the "Metro" branding for its tile-based design

BTW metro and makro (internationnal name) is the company complaining about the name of the interface.

Sorry, you've misunderstood...perhaps because of my poor topic headline...

The desktop interface was to be called "Metro" and indeed has been referred to as such all along. However that is now changed and currently it's referred to as "modern UI interface" or simply "Windows 8"

Made me laugh, MS saying 'the name is not what matters' , well why didn't they call it 'modern user interface' in the first place instead of 'Metro'.

Of course, if they are absolutely sure that the name does not matter then call it "Vista 2".

The difference there though was that Apple had bought the name back in 2009 from Proview, but typical Asian style the company never properly registered the deal...so Apple raped for an additional 60million. Usually I'm anti Apple, but in this deal, they were the good guy and got fkd badly by China.

Does Windows 7 have another "name"? I don't I've seen it referred to as anything else.

It is not Windows 8 that has another name, it is a part of Windows 8, the User Interface.
