[Myanmar] Tibetan Stabbed In India Over Burma Violence

A Tibetan youth was stabbed in the southern India state of Karnataka on Wednesday as part of a wave of anti-Buddhist sentiment among Muslims due to an alleged “massacre†of Rohingya Muslims in Burma’s Arakan State, according to the Times of India. A local Tibetan leader blamed the attack on a “misunderstanding†based on images of Tibetan Buddhist monks surrounded by dead bodies—victims of an earthquake in China in 2010—that have been circulating on social media sites with captions claiming that the dead were Muslims who had been murdered by Burmese monks.
