Nok-Air have announced the start of direct-flights daily between HDY and Chiang Mai. begins 1st January but bookable now, I guess someone finally noticed that Air Asia is doing OK on the route, not sure whether there's enough traffic for a second daily connection, but it can only be good for driving-down prices !

I flew for B1k return last July on Air Asia, I'm flying next month for B2.6k return on Nok, and previously it cost Bk-several up to B10k via Bangkok.
