Bangkok Fails To Make The Top 100 'Most Livable Cities'

Bangkok has failed to make the top 100 'Most Livable Cities' annual survey from the Economist Intelligence Unit. The Thai capital ranked in 101st place alongside Almaty in Kazakhstan and Amman in Jordan. It scored highly in the 'education' category but lowly in 'stability'.

I am happy to see Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary in good positions3rd 4th and 5th. I think Pitsanulok should be considered next time to be looked at in Thailand not Bangkok. Maybe Pitsanulok would do better.

"The Japanese city of Osaka is Asia’s most liable city' date=' ranked in 12th place, while Tokyo was placed in 18th position and Hong Kong in 31st slot.

...while Singapore failed to make it onto the top 50 list."

This goes to show that just having good infrastructure, stability and strict enforcement of rules and regulations do not make a city livable.

A city needs to have the spirit of life. I choose Bangkok over Singapore because Bangkok is like a fresh market, full of life (mi chivit chiva) and Singapore is as lively as a general hospital.

Are we surprised it never made the top 100?
