Gorgeous Dog Needs A Home Urgently

Featured Replies

We have befriended a lovely black dog which turned up at our house one day and decided to move in. But the Thai owners of the house we lease have said he has to go otherwise they will "deal" with him. We know what that means.

But "Batman" - because he has huge ears - is a fantastic dog and would make an amazing pet. He is extremely soppy but barks like the devil if anyone he doesn't know comes round so he is a great guard dog. He loves kids, and other dogs and cats. He doesn't even bother the pet bird. He doesn't have a bite in him - when we try to put him outside at night and he doesn't want to go he licks and licks to try to dissuade us. He is loyal and affectionate. He has been wormed, treated for fleas and ticks with frontline. He doesn't have mange (we had the test just in case). He is neutered (we just had him done to make it easier to find a new home). He has to be gone from our house by midweek or they will do away with him. Can anyone have him? Otherwise we will have to consider a refuge but really he needs someone to love him and lavish attention on him. He is about as big as a small black lab. We can bring him to you. Don't take him unless you really love dogs. 0811 045963.

Just to make it clear. We would not be seeking a new home for him unless he was likely to be harmed. I agree Thais are very compassionate. But the people where we live do not want him on their site. There is nothing we can do but move but we have signed a 12 month lease which we cannot break. Please do not judge without knowing the facts. We simply helped a dog that needed help and now we are in a difficult situation because we are extremely fond of him but it will cost us thousands to be able to move with him to give him a home. He is not an old boot. Far from it.

OP: Why has the landlord asked you to remove the dog? Have your neighbours complained about excessive barking, or some other reason?

Perhaps someone knows of a good neighbour who is caring and loves dogs.

I know you are situated in Samui but what,s the chances of getting him to the mainland if someone kindly wishes to welcome him into their family. unsure.png

Just a thought in case you cannot find someone local.

Everyone i,m sure hope and wish for a happy outcome to go with the good luck.

Please keep us posted

We would take him anywhere if it gave him a good life. The owners of the compound don't like dogs around because they say they empty the rubbish bins at night. But it isn't my dog which does that as he is tucked up inside with us. THey dont mind cats because they say they are clean and quiet but dogs might bite. Sadly there are just some people who don't like dogs and don't trust them. It is such a shame because this dog is such a lovely animal. He just wants to love and be loved. Interesting they gave us a day to get rid of the dog just after we signed a new lease. I would like to think it wasn't deliberate.....What I love best about Samui is the number of dogs which appear to own the island as much as humans, are free to roam and enjoy the outdoors. But for a dog I guess it is just the luck of the draw...We didn't choose to get a dog. he chose us and was in such a state we couldn't turn him away. That is why we are so keen to find him somewhere comfortable and loving to repay his loyalty.

It might be worth your while posting a few pictures...

Link to the Samui Forum might help. Dogs have found a new home there before. smile.png
