Any Recommendations Of Bars/pubs That Carry Single Malt Whisky

Featured Replies

Anyone know of any bar or pub in chiang mai that has a decent selection of single malt whisky like glenmorangie, highland park, laphroaig, talisker etc..

I am fairly new to the game and want to try as many samples as I can before making bottle purchases the next time I passing through duty free from overseas..

Nothing fancy or exotic, just a simple place that offers a wide selection for a reasonable price.

I doubt if many regular bars will offer a range of single malts as most local people are only aware of the major brands of blended whisky. Your best bet is to take yourself off to the odd 5 star hotel bar and see what they have. And be prepared to spend a fair amount on a single malt. I reckon that a double tot of Talkiser will cost you about the same as a bottle of 100 Pipers in Rimping.

The Pub has Glenmorangie and a couple of others.

If you see it, Oban's a big one-up from Glenmorangie IMO, very smooth. Not saying they've got it, but the Chedi Terrace/Cigar Lounge could be worth a look... on the river, one over from Night Bazaar.
