Went for Visa run a few days ago and guides said that Poipet border will not accept overstays plus will send you back to Bangkok to pay fines. The bus I take to new border @ Pong Nam Ron still accepts overstays. Jackgolf have 2 buses the 5am bus still goes to Poipet. Let us know if this is happening at any other borders thanks.

How this can be ?

You can pay the fine for overstay only at a exitpoint(border or airport).

Immigration do not accept to pay at the office.

I also thought that both buses of JG are going to new border as all other reliable operators.

Anyhow at Ban Laem is no problem to pay for overstay, you might have a wait some minutes as some people argue about amount of fine.

Incorrect info. I just had email contact with an officer at Aranyapratet Immigration Checkpoint. Here is an extract from that conversation.

Overstayers can pay overstay fine at Aran immigration checkpoint.

Note if you have already paid overstay and are stamped out of Thailand, the Cambodian Immigration could reject entry and send you back to Thailand without stamp in and out. Then the Thai Immigration have to send you to Immigration Bureau in Bangkok for investigation/interrogation/deportation.

Cambodian Immigration could reject entry for many reasons, it's nothing to do with Thai Immigration.

Please note that if you are on the way to the border, police or immigration officers can check your passport, and if found overstay they will arrest you and send you to the nearest police station, and then to court.

Do NOT overstay!
