" He added that he was fully confident that no money had been lost to corruption."

Oh,my!

These words -- said in any context anywhere in Thaland - should be regarded either as blasphemy or just a mere attempt at humor.

For Plod to say this proves he's either a liar or a fool.

I don't think Thailand wants either in charge of it's water management just now.

I disagree, there are many in Thailand that want this sort in charge.

Agreed, but they are just a bit wet, on the Plod scale, and they'll be dry come morning, maybe.

It isn't the gross incompetence of this particular government that really makes my butt cheeks clench, it's the "well, that's ok then, have some pie" attitude.

Billy was right, but he forgot to include politicians.

Of course K Plodprasop could easily confirm that there was no corruption.

Just transparently post on the TV, in the papers, on the internet and the social media EXACTLY how much went to who and where with receipts of course.

What we gave you xx billion baht and you don't know where it went and you have no receipts.

No problem at all. You are suspended with no salary, your bank accounts are froze, your immunity from the courts and law is withheld and if you are found guilty or not guilty nothing will be returned to you until AFTER the final appeal is heard in 10 or 15 years time.

What you have nothing to live on? Before you sell anything we need to check where you got it from, how much you paid, ALL your receipts etc.

You haven't got anything like that?

Oh dear, how sad lovely boy.

the latest flooded provinces that aren't really flooded, just really wet

15 provinces now declared as flood-disaster zones

BANGKOK, 21 September 2012 (NNT) – The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has announced that more provinces have fallen victim to the monsoon flooding, which has rampaged several parts of the country in the past weeks.

DDPM Director-General Wiboon Sanguanpong said on Thursday that a total of 15 provinces have been declared flood-disaster zones. They include Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Pichit, Chainat, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Prachinburi, Sakaeo, Nakhon Pathom, Chonburi, Rayong, Chachoengsao and Chaiyaphum.

A new province on the really wet list:

Phichit declares four districts disaster zones

PHICHIT, Sept 24 - Phichit declared four districts in the Yom River basin as flood disaster zones, Phichit Governor Suwit Watcharothayangkul said this morning.

The announcement will facilitate procedures in assisting flood victims.

The northern run-off and flash flood triggered overflowing of the Yom River and its branch canals and waterways.

The flood water level in four districts is about 1-2 metres on average.

The Governor ordered district chiefs and local authorities to set up centres to monitor the flood situation around the clock.

The local disaster prevention and mitigation office reported flooding in the province’s four districts beginning September 3, affecting 1,486 households.
