If England Are Not Inferior, Why Have We Failed?

Watching the manager....don't you think Hodgson just exudes failure?

Seems that way to me. He certainly isn't going to inspire anyone!

didn't watch the match but from reading and listening to reports it sounds textbook hodgson. tactically inept, unable to change games, incapable of seeing his own incompetence. he's an awful manager.

Yeah he should have made the change at 55 mins. He almost cost them all the points. Hopeless.

Four teams now chasing one spot and one in the playoffs. Four decent sides.....its going to be a struggle now for England do you think?

Yeah ...it will be a struggle if he keeps playing half the United team eh smokie boy! wink.png Maybe we could get Brenda Rodgers(3-2-1) or Antionette Virgina <deleted> from the Yids they are tactical genius's nowadays laugh.png world beaters maybe we should get a Jock......Kenny's still out of work isn't he? wink.png

You think its down to the manager?

Have to agree....ol red nose will have been spitting out the Bordeaux with giggles in the second half at the tactical ineptitude. :D

Yes it is. I think Poland have San Marino home and away, England away to Ukraine, they could easily lose that one. I know the Montenegro manager is a wind up merchant, but he was right on the money when he was taking the piss out of Hodgson for arranging friendly games when the play offs are being played. I think we will struggle to get to the finals. Even if we do get to Brazil getting out of the group stage would be a major achievement. Hodgson hasn't got a jar of glue in my opinion. An embarrassment.

I agree to a point. England have I think three of their remaining games at home which will help them. Should be enough for a playoff place but the achilles heel is the manager.

England had better players last night by far technically but put to little use it would seem by the manager's ineptitude. That said a failure to convert more in the first half wasn't his fault.

Not at all. I think i am 100% correct. If the rest of the british isles think we are so arrogant, up ourselves or whatever made up lying crap they want to spout out i wish they would eff off and never come back to england again. Its tedious, boring, bigoted and above lying untrue sh*te.

However theres so much bitter chip on the shoulder inferiority inbred that i am almost certainly flogging a dead horse.

Hope i've explained myselfbiggrin.png

Actually carms...I blame Thatcher for everything. wink.png

You've almost turned this into you're own thread mate. When did this obsession with the English national side begin?

I really don't know why you are referring to me in this post because you are well aware i'm not interested in international football, well apart from some south american stuff.

My only input into this thread is on the anti England posts which i take exception to as i know other posters do too. You know, the same old repetitive lies that rear their head everytime an English team takes the field. Maybe its about time the Englisg became as nationalistic and zenophobic towards the other home nations the way they are towards us. High time infact.

Thats all i have to say. Can't comment on any of the games because i haven't watched any and haven't read any reports.

We should of finished them off in the first half. I only watched the game today and from all the newspaper reports i thought it was going to be terrible. Until about 10 mins before they scored they didnt pose much of threat.

You have to accept when you are playing away against a half decent side that they are going to pressure you for 20 mins or so. My biggest gripe was that we didnt make any subs until after their goal. A couple before the goal might of helped us get hold of the game and grab another goal. Thats the managers fault not the players.

I think we are playing more football under Hodgson. I remember someone complaining about Cleverly only playing one twos. When did keeping possession of the ball become a bad thing? That has been Englands problem for a long while, trying to move the ball forward to quickly and losing possession all the time.

Its still in our hand. Serbia are obviously the best side we have to play and i think we will beat them at Wembley. Just have to make sure we dont slip up against any of the other sides. Im sure it wont be plain sailing, never is with England!

There must be some rumblings at the FA regarding Hodgson....it is fair to say there's a lot of money riding on qualification and failure will be highly damaging for them.

Any risk of him getting the boot?

if they didn't qualify for the world cup from such an easy group he'd have to go. FA are part of the problem of course but there's no way they'd let that slide.

Hodgson's win percentage with England is the second best since WWII.

I reckon you have the players to get through the group...but the manager is the problem. Tactically England can be outsmarted while he is at the helm.

you think that's a difficult group? seriously? 28th ranked 600,000 population montenegro? 48th ranked ukraine and 61st ranked poland? england should have walked through this qualification with their eyes closed.

We have been getting tactically outsmarted since i was born. It's nothing new. We have gone down the road of bringing in the supposed best tactical minds of Europe, like Eriksson and Capello, and we were still outsmarted. We don't have the best manager in world, but we do have one who i believe is passionate about the job and not just doing it for the money, he is English and he will get a performance out of the team that is at the very least, no worse than anything we have seen before in the last several decades. Frankly, that's enough for me.

I don't think it's a difficult group but nor do i think it's "such an easy group". I don't think there are any "easy groups" these days at international level, and i don't know what quoting population figures has to do with it.. as if that is a gauge of a nation's football.

I also can't help wondering how many England games you have watched in the last 20 or 30 years. Why would anybody who knows anything about England's recent footballing "achievements" imagine that we would walk through any qualification?

A touch unfair that mr bo he's only had 2? games to sort them out, , in the current climate it would be only fair 2 give him, what ,at least 4? games b4 his position is deemed as untenable clap2.gif

Do you mind?

Kicked me off all the other England threads so Stevie and myself are trying to have a serious discussion about Emgland's prospects.

At least I bothered to watch the game. :D
