Hi there.

I am getting in to training for a triathlon and now need to buy my own road bike. Are there any shop sin Bangkok that offer good quality road bikes at sensible prices? I am looking to pay no more than around 12,500B and don't need anything with NASA style spec, but it doesn't want to be a mountain bike.

If you know of anywhere, please share.

Many thanks

Many many bike shops. Where are you located? There are plenty are MBK and nearLumpini Park, etc. I just bought a bike at a great little shop at Udom Suk BTS. Very reasonable prices. Pro Bike at Lumpini is expensive.

There are two bike shops on chaeng wattana that I cna personally recommend. For road bikes, they mostly sell fuji between 15-25000. One of them is called Let's Bike by Goro you can find it on facebook quite easily, just type in lets bike by goro.

what size are you looking for also any prefferred make.

Don' t know about size to be honest. I'm 5' 8" if that makes a difference? I just want a bike that i can use to get fitter riding a bike - hate using the exercise bikes in a gym - so manufacturer doesn't bother me. My only preference is that it's a road bike, not a mountain bike. Can you help?

There are 2 shops there. The one closest to the BTS seemed to be more knowledgeable. I don't know if they speak English, so keep that in mind. I saw road bikes there as low as 4500 baht. They installed everything on the bike as I was shopping, very quick. And they give 10% discount if you ask, but won't go lower.

There are also 2 bike stores at Outdoor Unlimited at Amarin Plaza next to Chidlom BTS. One is Bike Zone (I got my triathlon bike there but they also have seletion of cheaper road bikes - and do speak English) and there is also a second one, but I forgot the name.
