Paint Chips

Featured Replies

Need some advice & recomendations for repairing some small paint chips. They are right and the edge where th 2 doors meet - Thanks to the Mrs not looking as she opened the door, 3 times!!!!!!!!!!!.

I am based in Phuket,

I feel for you... I am paranoid about opening doors in parkings and esp. in my condo, the hatch of the PJS. I always put my hand in front so that if it is too close to the wall, it does not scratch... I guess checking with the dealer?

Some car accessory shops sell paint ''pens'' in your car colour for this purpose. thumbsup.gif

I open the door for the Mrs. Not because I'm a gentleman, I just hate chipped doors.smile.png

Did it 3 times it's time to trade her in.

It is an all-new focus, just bought by our friend... wink.png

Stick a rubber reflector thingy over the chip and match it with one on the other door? Nail polish?

In the same f@@king spot!

I was going to comment on this,but...neee,what's the point... laugh.png

To add insult to injury, she then asks why I park in the same spot?! Erm cause thats where we are supposed to park for our condo! ANyway will try to source a touch up pen, if not maybe an insurance claim towards the end of the year...whistling.gif But if someone knows a talented painter here in Phuket please let me know

It's hard to fix it to be not visible, but you can always stick on some rubber door guard...they have this type that goes over the edge...and this will also protect the door for the "next time" ...smile.png

BTW,I have one chip as well...it happened at the dealer, when the manager opened the door to show me something inside and banged it at some sharp window frame...laugh.png ...well,he was very, very apologetic, but when I ask,if he can fix it,the answer was "solly,no paint here"...wai.gif

Reminds me of the girl at the Mitsu dealer... Was telling me adamantly not to open windows for seven days... Then managed to start rolling down the window! "Sorry, sorry!".

LOL

Insurance claim will cost you more in premium increase next year than the cost of repair.

I can one-up that... A couple of years back, the Mitsu dealer in SiSaket backed the wife's 6 month old PJS into a parked truck, right in front of our eyes. Apparently the reverse sensors didn't make a peep, even though what was left of them seemed to be beeping away just fine when I ran up to drag her out of the car ;)
