Stephan Zlotescu must be on some pretty strong shit.

BANGKOK: -- You’d probably never heardof him until today, but the rising American filmmaker is building a whole lotta buzz for a short film he just released called “True Skin” that envisions Bangkok’s future as a robot-filled cyborg dystopia.

The seven-minute film looks like it was shot in the Sukhumvit, Soi Cowboy, and Patpong areas.

Through special effects wizardry, Zlotescu imagines a Bangkok where robotic prosthetics can be selected through an iPad like 3D interface and old Patpong hags reach out and grab you with cyborg nipple pincers.

Touts, ladyboys, African hookers, and some aggressive Thai hookers already grab you unsolicited. Just another take on reality.

So will the price of a ST go up or down ? Or up to the quality and amount of extra appendixes ?

Somebody's been hitting the yaba too much.

Can you see the real me Doctor? Can ya? Can ya?

From a great album

Very insightful. To me the film reveals the mechanism of the (supposedly)algorithm in the brain many people seem to use whilst venturing in Bangkok. Very cleverly edited, also.

Some people claim to know everything, but i challenge them to open their minds and take a real good look at this short flick. Look again, and think again.

I really enjoyed this. I hope their is something feature length in the future.

Many are calling it a rip off of "Deus Ex: Human Evolution" but I think he's snaffled bits of Blade Runner, Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report (at least). But still with a clearly unique style. I'd like to see something feature length, but it's all in the script, you can't just use effects.

Well waddya know....

true-skin.jpgStephan Zlotescu's short film, True Skin, is planned for development into a feature. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Warner Bros. has picked up the rights and attached Zlotescu to direct. The short, which you can check out in the player below, is officially described as follows:

"True Skin" is a sci-fi short set in the not too distant future where augmentation is the way of life. For Kaye, still a natural, augmenting will help him keep pace in this now hyper-paced world. However, after acquiring an off-market prototype, Kaye quickly finds himself fighting not only for his own humanity, but something much larger.

David Heyman (the Harry Potter franchise) will produce alongside Raymond Brothers, Scott Glassgold and the original short's Chris Sewall. Jeffrey Clifford will serve as executive producer.
