90 Day Report By Mail Got Back Receipt Of Notification With Bar Code Bkk With None Of My Passport

I normally send in by EMS registered tracking number my documents for the 90 report and never had a problem and always get back with my self addressed stamped envelope the Receipt of Notification and all the other documents I send them, this time I get back Receipt of Notification with a Bar Code, and highlighted in yellow and red typ it says upper left hand corner with Star * Please check expiry date of visa in your passport in ENglish and above it in Thai. It is typed this time.

My question is what happened I have been reading about bar code for 90 days reporting in Changmai, but no one mentioned this anywhere else? Does anyone else who received from Chaengwattana their 90 day report either by mail or going there have a bar code now, and they did not send back my Passport and other documentation that they always returned to me.

following address, making sure they arrive 7 days before the 90 day period expires.

Notification by registered mail, documents required and address to send documents to.

1. Copy of all passport pages (up to the latest arrival stamp in the Kingdom or latest visa stamp)

2. Copy of arrival/departure card TM.6 (front and back)

3. Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any)

4. Completely filled in and signed notification form TM.47

5. Envelope with 10 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 after having received the notification. This part must be kept for reference and for future notifications of staying over 90 days.

6. The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.

Send the mail before the renewal date 15 days to

90 DAYS REPORT SECTION

IMMIGRATION BUREAU DIVISION 1

CHALERMPRAKIAT GOVERNMENT COMPLEX

120 MOO 3, CHAENGWATTANA ROAD,SOI 7,

TUNGSONGHONG, LAKSI, BANGKOK. 10210

THIS IS THE ADDRESS THEY STAMPED ON MY RETURN ENVELOPE IN UPPER

LEFT HAND CORNER,

ALSO THAIVISA WEBSITE SAYS 5 BAHT AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD 10 BAHT STAMPS AFFIXED ON ENVELOPE, TWO STAMPS THEY GIVE ME AT POST OFFICE,

15 DAYS I UNDERSTAND IS THE TIME TO SEND IT IN AND NOT 7 DAYS AS WAS LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE,

THE POINT IS IF THIS BAR CODE ALLOWS ME TO NOT HAVE TO SEND IN THE DOCUMENTS LISTED ABOVE ANYMORE THAT THEY HAVE IT ON FILE, THAT WOULD BE GREAT, BUT NOTHING IS WRITTEN ANYWHERE about this change, sorry for the cap locks.

I am almost 66 years in Nov and my retirement visa extension is Dec 15 each year and I usually go Nov.15 with my documents to apply for the extension each year, so I will go and ask them when I am waiting on the queue.

In the meantime maybe this might help someone else.

thanks for any positive feedback.

Also in the positive I only point out the mistakes about the stamps and the address and the 15 days before is not to object or complain but to point out the new info and maybe it can be corrected and If I am wrong about these items then I stand corrected and apologize, but it is not to complain all this is good for me to find out how to deal with these Visa and Immigration problems. So I thank this sight and all the people that pass on info for us.

Why would you send your passport for 90 day address reporting? photo copies of the front page, visa page, entry stamp page, arrival departure card both sides and TM 47 form are sufficient, or all pages if you feel you should. From what I have read here the bar code and notification are fairly new and a number of posters have received their receipt with this.

Suspect poster is talking about copies of passport not being returned and this is the first report I have seen of this or bar code being used for mail in reporting but is in agreement with current immigration web site posting that return envelope is for lower portion of TM-47 return (no mention of passport copies) - look forward to further reporting. If you have reference to outdated pinned information please provide links so it can be changed. Thanks.

As for mailing address it varies by immigration office - the address listed in OP appears to be correct for Bangkok residents (although I use Complex B building) and the 15 days or more before expiration date is current policy and has been frequently reported on forum since it first appeared on immigration web site several months ago.

Just received my 90 day report receipt back from Bangkok Immigration last week (my first report by mail). They only returned the receipt with bar code and a new empty TM.47 form without bar code.

You got this notice because your extension will be expiring before next 90 day report is due. Many immigration offices do this as a reminder.

Thanks for the replies, I always sent copies of requested passport and most were color printed

I always got them returned with the new form to be completed and the receipt with the date on it for next due date.

This is the first with bar code and that highlighted in red and yellow with start **** PLEASE CHECK EXPIRY DATE OF VISA IN YOUR PASSPORT******* and this first time printed 1.THIS IS NOT AN EXTENSION OF STAY. THAI AND ENGLISH

2.PLEASE CHECK EXPIRY DATE OF VISA IN YOUR PASSPORT.

3 THE FINE OF OVERDUE NOTIFICATION IS NOT EXCEEDING 5000 BAHT.

I never noticed that before either that is in THai and English on bottom right of the receipt of notification.

Now maybe I thought all those documents might not be needed if they are bar coded and placed on their Computer, or they just had a different person decide that sending me back my documents was not necessary, but this form is different besides the warning of expiry date and the amount of money I could be fined if overdue, and the bar code.

So I will call or have wife call to find out why they did not return as they have for the last 5 years every 90 days my copied passport info as requested in mailing in,

I just thought that someone might know?

I thought in asking these questions and pointing out the address stamped on the return envelope clearly states the way they want it mailed to them the next time as well. That is why I changed the info.

As for the cost of stamps they told me two five baht stamps or 10 baht to send for the return envelope.

Thanks for any more details and if anyone who does mailings of 90 day report ever got their copies back with the notification receipt I would understand maybe why I did not get back this time but 5 years of getting it back made me a little worried and inquisitive.

Please only people that do the mailings would know this info.

Fine has always been up to 5,000 baht but normal fine is 2,000 baht for simple later reporting. As web site still requires all copies suspect not returning is a way to insure you provide fresh copy each time (to account for trips which would change your report requirements). However there should not be a requirement for 10 baht stamp on return envelope if not returning more than receipt and new form.

Just got back my 90 days report, this very morning.

1> I got the "PLEASE CHECK EXPIRY DATE OF VISA IN YOUR PASSPORT" which did not worry me as my next 90 days report would be after the end of my current extension.

2> They did not join back all the passport and TM copies I sent (I sent 3 times, the exact ones, signed 3 times).

3> I got only once a pre-filled form.... but that was months ago!

Would it make you feel better if I had said "I did not think that you had to send your passport for 90 day reporting"? This is not a blog it was a reply to a topic. Do you have anything positive to add.

Mine came back today with a note attached to the 90 day verification slip saying

"Next time send back original only"

Sorry I just noticed that you thought I sent my Passport in the mail?

Where does it say that?

Who would do that?

As others have pointed out, COPIES, COPIES OF Certain pages?

As others have said, right, sorry that I was not clear enough for you to clarify the point,

COPIES were sent for the last five years or so every ninety days and since the copies were nice and clean

and color copies of the pages , they always sent them back in the 10 baht self addressed stamped envelope,

and since they always sent them back and the notice and a new form, I decided to write about it here and ask if anyone else had this situation and had Bar code and that is what I wrote but not clear enough for everyone to understand that I did not send in my pasport.

thanks for looking out for me and pointing out how dumb one must be to send in their passport for a 90 day report eh?

cheers

FWIW, I received the new bar-coded 90-day report receipt from Chaeng Wattana on Sept 22, and they returned all of the passport copies I sent along with new TM47 form. I assume they still want those copies sent to them the next time if nothing changes during the next three months (e.g., I don't leave the country)? Or do they not want anything back but the bar-coded receipt and a new TM47 filled out? There wasn't any note explaining anything with the papers returned to me.

And also, if I leave the country and come back in, surely they need a new set of copies for the following 90-day report since date of entry and departure card information will have changed.

So, exactly what do they want back now if one doesn't leave the country before the next 90-day report?

You said in your original post:

and they did not send back my Passport and other documentation

You probably meant to say "passport copies".
