You Tube Problems With Safari & Chrome

Featured Replies

I can't watch videos on Youtube when the 'Slow Mac?' Mackeeper Ad appears. After about 40 secs the buffer bar time turns to 0.00 and the video stops after about 1 minute and keeps loading forever. This happens on Chrome & Safari. Does anyone else have this problem?

This has been going on for a couple of months. On Safari I have 'Adblock' & 'Click to Flash'. I am running Mountain Lion on 2011 MB Pro.

I have tried the usual forums and a few people have the same problem but no solution as yet.

May I offer an alternative suggestion? Firstly ditch Click to Flash. Then go to http://kwizzu.com/ and install Fastest Tube. Now you will download the videos (just follow the instructions, simple). Two things are going to happen. Firstly you will download the video much faster than trying to watch it in You Tube (Safari or Chrome) and you can watch it again at your leisure without having to go to You Tube. I just downloaded the 57 mb video in the screenshot below in about a minute.

Safari and Chrome are built on the same webkit so that may be where the problem lies.
