Searching For A Printer That Can Make Card Decks With 52 Custom Cards

Hello,

I'm lloking for a local printer that can print 5,000 copies of a custom Card Deck of 52 playing cards.

I've gotten about a 100 or so quotes from China for as low as 25 cents per deck of cards but would prefer to get them printed and produced here in Thailand if possible.

Anyone know of a local printer that can do Custom Card Decks?

AFAIK playing cards are like dildos - illegal in the LOS even for those who who only want to play solitaire.

I believe cards are ilegal except for one or two packs marked with an official thailand tax stamp. Possession of more is an offence as also is playing with them in a situation which could involve gambling.....even using tokens.

Yeah, what harrry said is correct.

Only cards produced by the Thai gov't monopoly are legal.

You might find yourself in hot water printing them here.

Go with the print in China option.

Trip before last I bought a pack at a 7-11 near Pattaya Klang, as the BG I was with got hooked on solitaire on my laptop.

This was her first "Win"

True enough they are illegal. Sister in Law spent a few nights in the clink about a month ago (the one near Big C on the superhighway) after being caught playing cards matchsticks (one stick equal one baht so we are not talking big money here) in a Wat Ket soi. Then again belligerent attitude, full of Leo, and no ID card always helps but it was the cards and sticks that did her in.

Apart from obligatory visit with wifey did not see sister in law for one week (blessed be the name of the BIB).....took that long to sort out that she is a Thai national (without an ID card) and for her to keep her mouth shut so BIB would accept this..

Maybe you should do a card reading to fin out.

Custom cards I take it you are also looking for a quality set. Or are they for joking around.

You could send them to 5,000 people in Thailand and then tell the police you have discovered a gambling ring and turn them all in. They might have a reward for that big of a ring or be willing to give you a percentage of the fines.

This thread contains a great deal of ignorant misinformation---I could use stronger words!. Cards are NOT illegal in Thailand. If they were, how do you think that bridge clubs, with hundreds of decks of cards, flourish? In fact cards are produced by a government monoply and sold with a government tax stamp, so they could hardly be illegal. The reason it is a government monoploy is that the government wants to collect their tax. Furthermore they are sold openly in Tesco, 7-11, etc. Three things are illegal: 1. gambling (the person arrested was certainly arrested for gambling, not for having cards), 2. printing cards (it is a government monopoly) and 3. importing cards (again it is a government monopoly).

You can get away with bringing in a few decks of cards, but the Customs may well notice 5000! The only way the OP can follow the law is to have the government card printing company do the job.
