Why Do Falang Do That?

Featured Replies

This question has been increasingly bothering me of late, as the broad stroke of definition has been used to refer to such divergent and nuanced cultures as Norway, Brazil, Israel, Canada, and Australia.

I've always thought the better question was; 'why don't Thais do that?'. It's the black dot on the white canvas view.

I just want to ask why you are talking in riddles????

Why someone writes something incomprehensible to share? No, serious, can you explain what you mean?

Because they have the right to be a divergent culture the same as Norway, Brazil, Israel, Canada, and Australia.

Are you implying that these countries are the only ones with a culture or that all the other countries have the same culture.

Cause falang are funny! This topic's been beat to death on here, though. Expect to get no where fast with this discussion.

Why does the dot have to be black and the canvas white.....why can't the dot be white and the canvas black.

Jeez...such introspective drivel first thing in the morning....

As Larry has pointed out this topic has been done to death and at a extreme stretch CM related.

Time for moi to have some Thai culture (yoghurt) and better intellectual stimulation by resuming extracting lint from navel.

if you look at it through insular, unknowing eyes (kind of through those of a buffalo whistling.gif) I expect anything out of the norm would seem completely alien and illogical.

I tried to understand what you were saying OP, but had to give up. If you care to explain in more detail, I'll give it another go.

He's asking, why do Thai people often pose the question 'Why do Farang _____?' , where farang are all grouped together to mean westerners/white people. The fill in the blank is usually 'like girls with dark skin' , 'not like to shower', 'have hot temper', 'not eat rice' etc etc.

Some glasses are half full, some are half empty. Some elevators do not go all the way to the top. How about yours?

The short answer would be "Because we are in their country."

Correct, but here on Thaivisa the farangs do the same about Thais, ok less wide selection as all the farangs but still same error. Though generalization often holds truth.

Farangs like to be on themselves more then Thais in general. Its a truth but wont apply to everyone.

I can understand why many thai would ask this question.

I also have many why do farang .... questions that are not easy to answer

1.why do farang scream at the top of their lung to friend who stand next to them not 1 meter away

OR

stuck in mini van many hours, 1 stupid !@$%wit farang talking so loud you think he is talking to friend at opposite end of lumpini park !!

Ethnocentrism is a universal and pretty much inescapable feature of human existence, just as are all the other facets of ignorance.

You know, just about every topic imaginable has been beaten to death on Thai Visa. So there's really no point in allowing anyone to post anything to Thai Visa anymore.

Good point! But actually I believe that point has been covered repeatedly as well.

Why do people start threads with a post of meaningless drivel?

Yes, a decent FAQ section would save us all a lot of time but kill the site's business model.

All aboard board members! Travel abroad aboard the good board thaivisa, you'll never get bored discussing the broads.

OP , haven't you just given an example of the question that you ask? blink.png

I just farted, it did not smell pleasant.

Next.

Me too, and l am sober. smile.png

Why do farangs post topics like this?

Because they get tired of trying to get people angry about being called Farang.smile.png

I just farted, it did not smell pleasant.

Source please

Try to be more specific was it in the bath or shower as they will enhance the whole experience.

Is there a possible tie in to the OP
