No problems here. The occasional NATIONAL hiccup, otherwise like a Swiss watch. We are talking Fibre Optic , aren't we?

I had TOT 5 years ago, when I called support it usually took a week before anything happened.

Don't know if they have improved.

Now I have 3BB and happy with that.

When I call the local office in Bophut, if it's a local problem they are here within the hour most times.

You pay one year in advance.... which works out to 828 baht a month (You get discount and only way to do it, I believe) But there are various options to speed... I think mine 13 mbs (hope that right term) .... but runs well.... say on Youtube etc. I don't do movies, so don't know for stuff like that... !!!

But it does include the installation and receiver / transmitter.... I forget the distance they will run the line... they have a bit of tolerance with distance, so you may not pay extra.... but a few baht a metre if too far.... Not sure what the subsequent years' prices will be....

Just stop in to 3BB office, outside, Tesco Chawang.... and ask... not too bad for service there! They set me with connection next day... thumbsup.gif

Do it through a friend (or girlfriend/boyfriend) and you can pay per month.

Do you get a free wireless router now?

My line dropped out 3-4 days ago so I called 1530 and left a voicemail at maybe 3am. Went to bed just before dawn and got woken up by a call 8:10am from 3bb. Guy said a local engineer would call me later so I went back to sleep. When I got up I checked the lights on the router but it was still out, had to go out so just forgot about it. While I was out the friend whose name it is under said she get a call from the local engineer just after lunch because he couldn't contact me so she said to go and knock. When I returned much much later I checked the side of the house where the cable has been chewed by dogs a couple of times and you could see work had been done on it which was to a higher standard than before. I went inside and reset the router, worked and is still working just fine.

Yes, (unless that has changed in the last short while....) wireless with 4 plug ins for LAN connection (think LAN correct term, I'm not techno on stuff like this!!! ) So you could I guess run 4 computers on that, but would guess suck the speed!!! wink.png The box is not that large... it has an antenna that sticks up!!!

Thing is if you get GF / BF to do this you don't get the discount... so would be 900 baht per month.... personally I prefer to pay these sorts of bills a year in advance, then you don't get dinged if late on payment!!! whistling.gifsmile.png

You still get the discount when you pay for the year but you have the bonus of a native Thai speaker as a back up number. Also if you are a couple of weeks late on payment then you get a warning screen when you try to use the internet. It says pay in 7 days or they disconnect. No fine at all, just pay.

The flyer I have from when I signed up is

9 Mbps/1 Mbps 963 baht per month

12 Mbps/1 Mbps 1,595 baht per month

16 Mbps/1 Mbps 2,451 baht per month

20 Mbps/4 Mbps 3,200 baht per month

(download/upload)

Pay one year in advance and pay for modem now. Installation was free up to 1,000 meters from their nearest box!

But the details do vary depending on 'This month's special offer'.

As Jimmy said - pop along to the 3BB office outside of Tesco. Take your passport, and they need an address for the bill. After 1 year and two days - they switch it off until you go in and pay again.

I've been auto moved from 6/1 to 8/1 to 9/1 to 12/1 (I think) and now on 13/1 (though I actually get 15/1) in around 3 years. Price has remained the same (under 1000 Baht a month inc. tax) though the discount for a year up front has gone down a bit. Maybe I have been lucky but I can't fault their service at all. I notice in the general 'computer/internet' section of TV there have been a number of complaints about non local speeds in Chang Mai but I don't get that at all. Hard to know if Samui is lucky or CM is unlucky.

I'd love that 4 up but not paying 3k a month for it.

I use true cable 20/2 @ 1300 bt and am quite happy with it.

They actually give me around 25/2.5 and the speed is good for outside Thailand also. But this depends on peak time etc.
