I want to have a Maine coon cat. Do somebody know where can I get maine coon with pedigree in Thailand ( better in Phuket) thank you in advance !

A Maine Coon cat is not suited to Thailand. It is rather cruel to take an animal best suited to a moderate and cooler climate and stick it in the high humidity, high heat of Thailand.

There is a permanent pet shop at JJ Market that sometimes has them. They are about three times more expensive, though, than the cats are in the US.

Doesn't seem to stop people buying animals totally unsuited to Thailand, like Siberian Huskies. Not only are the animals suffering from the heat, imagine trying to find ticks in all that fur.

its actually not that bad. for siberian i not too sure but i knew a imported malamute who seems to do really well here, naturally their under coat sheds alot more in this weather. they arent alot thicker than a retriever. strangely enough, the shorter hair breeds like labrador could get sunburns easily

ANYWAY BREED CAT SUCH AS MAINE COON SHOULD LIVE INSIDE THE HOUSE , NOT OUTSIDE ! INSIDE - NO SUNBURNS , NOT HOT AND NO PROBLEMS FOR THE CAT. I HAVE 3 PERSIAN CATS THEY STAY INSIDE THE HOUSE , AND THEY FEEL ABSOLUTLY HAPPY AND HAVE FANTASTIC FUR !

monica bell, please tone down your caplocks on your keyboard... writing in CAPLOCKS is like shouting at someone whenu are angry...

thanx, bina

and yes, fur doesnt make life difficult for an animal, it is their face style. pushed in face=breathing difficulties=problems in heat cause dog cant pant and cool off properly... indoor with A/C, should be no problem.

Hi Emma546,

There's a lady vet that breeds Maine Cool cats just out of Thalang, she's located about 5 minutes from the main intersection, along the left side of the road to Baan Don / Laguna. She is a good vet and was very kind when we had our little dog Jas with her.

Hope this is of some help.

Andrew.
