Gmail Suddenly Misbehaves / Htc Desire

Featured Replies

I am most happy with HTC Desire z, keyboard.

Noticed today the Gmail stopped downloading incoming mails and sent mails are kept for good in the outbox, marked = sending........... but it never happens. All other internet runs normal with Firefox browser.

Any solution? Can I un-instal gmail without risk and re-instal? Is it possible?

BTW= Any opinions on the Dolphin browser?

You can un-install gmail and install again, no problem,

I have an HTC Desire and Gmail, no problems here.

Does this happen on WiFi? 3G?

Did anything change in the last few days?

If you go into Settings, Accounts, Google, do you see your associated Gmail account? If so, click on it and review the current settings...esp. Gmail to make sure there is a check mark and sync is On.

Can you try another email client to see if you have the same issues?

Are other synching type Google apps. working - contact, calendar, etc.?

I'm not sure you can uninstall Gmail as it is an integrated Android app.

It could an issue in Gmail settings, or the phone/network settings, or an issue with your ISP

You are right, at least I could not find a function to un -instal GMAIL, only via manage application = Stop app, + clear data.

This I did and I restarted the HTC.

Everything seems to work normally again.

Thanks for being of help!

Think the problem is Google's end, I'm having to clear cache and data weekly
