I currently have a australian international drivers licence and a Australian & Swiss drivers licence.

Are these not valid after a certain amount of time in Thailand?

I have an aussie licence and a thai licence but was informed recently(ex aussie consulate worker) that there is an agreement between Australia & Thailand on drivers licences, both are valid in either country. It scared me when I thought about the thai drivers going over there and doing what they do here, bloody dangerous.

IF you are here for longer than 3 months you will need a Thai Drivers licence.

As I understand it the agreement that 'some' foreign Drivers licences can be used in conjunction with an International Driving permit can be used for a limited period with Tourist (or equivalent) visa's only.

If you have a different type of Visa: i.e. Type O or B then I am of the understanding that a Thai Drivers licence is required.

Obtaining a Thai Drivers licence is a simple process outlined in many other threads.

Thanks for the answers.

If seajae is correct then I would be able to use just the Australian Drivers licence during my stay. Switzerland and Australia also have such a agreement. There is no need for international licence.

As for the international licence in thailand which is good for 90 days,

is that per entry into the country? Because I have a double entry tourist visa, each for 60 days.
