I've got a Western Digital one, purchased in the US but made in Thailand so you would think they are available in Thailand. Otherwise Orico make USB 3.0 cards, about 1,500 baht. Take a walk around Panthip or Fortune and look for the shops with various adaptor cards in their window displays. They are sold here but you have to hunt them down or buy from one of the online Thai IT stores.

I looked for one in Tukcom Pattaya. Hardly any choice, as usual, and very high prices so I put off my purchase until I was in the UK where I got a good 4-port one from Amazon for under 500B (equiv) delivered. Amazon had a huge choice, of course.

2-ports ..... from BKK. 2 days"

I never cease to be amazed by the lack of choice, poor stock levels and high prices that are practised here.

4-port model from Amazon UK, under 500B including nationwide next day delivery and 20% VAT.

(This criticism is not directed against any particular supplier/retailer in Thailand, nor any particular type of product. It's just a general observation that applies across the board from USB cards to biscuits to motor cars.)

With this particular item I found when looking at reviews on Amazon and Newegg that some of the cheaper ones received poor reviews so do a little research before deciding on what to purchase if you can. Even in the US my WD card sells for $30 I think, but it had excellent reviews and didn't need any extra power connected.

invadeit have plenty of USB 3.0 pci-e cards (and hubs) available. From 2 to 7 ports, but prices are higher than those quoted by Gregory. All seem to be made by Orico.

Thank you for the offers and the links, suggestions.

The usb 3 to sata sounds interesting, for an old rig like mine. But at 1800b, that is a lot of jasmine rice!!!
