Phu Bai international airport in Hue will shut down for renovations from March to November next year.

The Vietnamese city of Hue, located on the country’s east coast, will not receive or book future flights for most of 2013, with exact closure dates to be advised.

Two options remain for travellers to Hue;

You can fly to Da Nang and take overland transfers or take the overnight train directly to Hue.

Authorities have asked travellers to help skip all domestic flights to Hue during this period (Mar-Nov 2013).
