True's 3G Packages

Featured Replies

I want to get a True sim for my 3G iPad but I can't figure out their latest advertising on the various packages. Before, they had a monthly 5 gig fair use unlimited plan for 799, I think. They seem to offer 799, 899 & 999 deals but the fine print is beyond me.

Since there is talk, in the paper at least, that the 3G carriers will be forced to reduce their rates 15% should I stick with month to month for a bit? Or is that just wishful thinking.

Thanks

I assume you have a TrueMove H SIM?

For pre-paid you can go with a single month, hard-capped service, or a recurring (automagically renews assuming you have enough balance) "unlimited" package. ("unlimited" plans are fair=use capped at 128 Kbps.

For post-paid, TrueMove H have many, many, many offers, promotions and tie-ins. Not sure if the standard iPad post-paid plans offer significant advantages - you'll have to do the math(s) based on your individual usage/requirements?

I wouldn't let the NBTC-mandated 15% reduction affect a post-paid decision today - I assume they would rebate/reduce any existing post-paid contract prices if/when they actually launch 2100 MHz. Even then, they might separate 2100 MHz as a(nother) separate brand, with new numbers (091) and require porting, again?

Thanks lomatopo. I ended up getting a one-month pre-paid plan ... 99 for the sim, 970 for the 5 gig plan and 1 baht change from 1100 baht - the 30 baht balance vanished into the True fog. One day's experience: the @truewifi service is often okay on the street but unavailable in buildings. The 3G service showed 1 meg down on Speedtest and was usually available in and outside. I gather if you get a post-paid plan that after using it for four months you can put it on hold (for a period) if you will be out of the country.
