@ignis

Rather then repeat myself in this topic will point to my post in the other tablet topic - Choosing a Tablet

Very many thanks, somehow always get messed up trying the Search at the top, never can find what I know is there, or what I am sure would be there..

Actually I just posted that a few minutes ago so searching wouldn't helped for my update, specifically I pointed out the ASUS tf700 versus your request on the tf300. Very similar units, but the tf700 has a much higher resolution screen and not much more expensive then the tf300.

And for cbrer I mentioned a Chinese tablet in that topic I got, Ainol Novo10 Hero 10".

we have NEX 200 androids....4700bt I think.

Fricking amazing...like you am a laptop guy with mouse and whatnot..touch screen takes a bit of getting used to.

The NEX does everything you are looking for and then some.

Thanks very much, I'll take a look for it in 9 inches, and see if it crosses off many of the things on my list. biggrin.png

Specs look okay to me.

But only seem to have 7 inches.

Tablet

- Android 4.0

- HDMI Player

- wifi

- จอขนาด 7 นิ้ว

- แบต 3000 mA

- Capacitive Touch

- CPU 1.2 MHz

- HDMI PORT

3,200b.

And a good bit below my wish price of around 5,000.

Still have to check for my list of:

Flash

Google Play

Dual core etc.

If the resolution (800x480) is correct, thats crap too low.

All tablets have USB

A8 Cortex@1500 Mhz => wishful thinking. 1000-1200 is realistic. No dual-core, but ok you get what you pay for

The problem with this and similar websites is, they copied and pasted some specs from "somewhere".

And the Nex 200 (look at the product picture), from this link: http://www.siamtopup.com/trade/nex.php is definetely running Android 2.3.x

Just back from Tesco-Lotus and wrote down the following from the specs sheet next to their tablets.

9 inch I-Mobile I-Note.

TFT 16.7 colours.

MP3

512 GB

Android 4

Wifi

Large USB plug

4,990b.

Andropad TA11

2million pixels

MP3

8GB

32GB

3G

Android 4.0

CPU 1 ghz.

4,990b.

Sonore Andropad TA12 9 inches.

1.3 million pixels

MP3

32GB

ROM 8GB

Android 4

CPU 1.2 GHZ

4,490b.

Everything else was written in Thai.

Price isn't that important in this range and I'd be happy going up to 7k baht if it's for much better specs.

I guess the 1.3 and 2 million pixels is referring to the camera, which isn't important to me, but I presume the 1.2 ghz is definitely better than 1 ghz. I think those two only had a micro USB slot, which I don't like or have ever even used.

How do these ones stack up? Anything in there that is importantly good or importantly bad? smile.png

Cheers.

Does an Android OS automatically include 'Google Play'?

Normally yes. However, as mentioned in the other topic, some Chinese models may not be properly Google certified and may have difficulties accessing it. Looking at your first link it does indicate it has Google Play and certified (in Thai).

Thanks.

Can't copy and paste from the page but half way down it seems to say in Thai that it is certified.

I think the Andropad TA11 is the one I'll go for in a few days time, unless some reason to go for another one pops up. smile.png

You don't really want this....believe me rolleyes.gif

I have an older 8" Gpad tablet with the identical CPU and Ram.

It's *usable*....but far away from smooth, compared to the newer chinese dual-core tablets/phones.

Have a look at this one:

http://www.gpadtable...ducts.php?id=69

Much better specs, GPS, Bluetooth and also Jelly Bean instead of ICS. Price *should* also be in the 7K Baht range.

Google shows a price of 9,999b, but that seems to have been upon release in August.

Thanks. I'm more happier around the 5k mark though. biggrin.png

Went to Tesco and their Andropad TA11 were out of stock. Went to Zeer Rangsit and no one had them. I-Note 9 inches were all over the place for 5k baht but the screen resolution was suspiciously low 800x 400 or something similar.

The other tabs all over the place were AigoPad M80 Dual Core.

Dual Core, 8 inches, 4,900b.

I always need to research something like this first, but it actually looks good (never heard of the name before)

Go to this Post in a similar ThaiVisa thread and click on the first link in that post which will take you to a AppLib webpage....AppLib is a APK download site many low cost tablets pre-install/use on their tablets instead of Google Play. The Aigo brand you mention above apparently subscribes to AppLib which may mean it's not Google Play compatible.

Dual Core, 8 inches, 4,900b.

Do you really believe this? laugh.png

You won't find a decent tablet with a (really existing and not chinese copy/paste specs) Dual-Core in this price-range....

Maybe end of next year....

I wouldn't know a dual core if it was sitting on my face when I woke up. Or how much it cost.

Everything on googlesays it has an ARM Cortex-A9 Dual Core cpu.

Perhaps they saved money from not getting a Google Play license.

Though This link lists as its specs as:

Tens of thousands of free-downloading applications via android market

If the tablet does not have Jellybean (4.1/4.2) then flash isn't a problem as it will normally come with it. That is Android 4.0.x (Ice Cream Sandwich). Otherwise you will have to sideload Flash. So far my tablet has Jellybean 4.1.1 and I sideloaded Flash but still doesn't behave right.

I also am looking at tablets. did you mean to say: If the tablet does not have Jellybean (4.1/4.2) then flash isn't a problem as it will normally come with it? Thanks for the clarification.

The few tablets with ICS and/or JB I've played with still come with Flash installed, it's just the tablet manufacturer may have developed his ICS and/or JB firmware to work with a particular version of flash....and that Flash version can't be uninstalled/replaced unless you have a "rooted" device, manually uninstall or use some App like Titanium Backup which can remove Apps, and then install a later version of Flash--and hope that version works properly with that manufacturer's ICS/JB which is tweaked to work model by model.

Alright. If there's none in my budget then it has to be a single core.

As long as they're okay for ebooks, then the odd bit of basic games, watching videos, and popping balloons and baking cakes (the missus) then I'm sure it'll be fine. :)

Thanks for your info.
