Buying Iphone 5 The Fastest Way

Featured Replies

I am landing in Bangkok on Saturday (22) and would like to get my hands on iphone 5 by Sunday (in a cost effective way).

I am a tourist so the effective official price after VAT refund is (22500-1498) = 21000 THB.

My question is, at what places in Bangkpk, I can get my hands on a new iphone quickly without waiting. And what is the expected price of the unit (if I buy from shops)? Will these shops provide me vat refund slip which I can claim back at the airport?

I understand Apple online store in Thailand takes 1-3 business days to ship. So, in a way there is no shortage of iphone 5.

Would appreciate if someone replies soon :)

Go to the official retailers - True, DTAC, AIS shops in any bigger mall. I'd go in the morning just in case but I kind of think that supply has caught up with demand by now.

I am not sure iStudio or other authorized Apple dealers have it now, but I don't think so.

Don't buy it from the little shops on the corner. You'll pay more for a grey import iPhone with no warranty.

Cheapest is to buy from Apple online store, actually. But since you arrive on the weekend that's probably not an option.

22,900 from the on-line store all in, but no VAT back via this channel.

To get VAT back you'll probably have to pay closer to 24,500.

Maybe best to go to an iStudio store in any major mall?

Service provider prices without a service plan:

AIS 24,550

DTAC 23,655

TrueMove H 24,550
