[Myanmar] Earthquake Strikes Northern Burma

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted northern Burma on Saturday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has said. The tremor struck at 11:11 pm local time with the epicenter at a depth of 126.60 km. It was was initially determined to be at 22.430 degrees north latitude and 94.753 degrees east longitude, the USGS said on its website. The quake was put at 50 km northwest of Monywa, Sagaing Division, 100 km west of Shwebo, Shan State, and 330 km north of the new capital Naypyidaw.
